ILP 2020 DC vs RR: Jofra Archer and Riyan Parag celebrate the dismissal of the first ball with Bihu Dance

ILP 2020 DC vs RR: Jofra Archer knocked out Prithvi Shaw on the maiden ball of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in Dubai on Wednesday (14 October) and instantly launched into the ‘Bihu’ dance along with his Rajasthan teammate Riyan Parag. Parag, an indigenous of Guwahati in Assam celebrated Rajasthan’s win over SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday with the customary Assamese dance form and the celebration quickly caught up with his teammates as Archer was also spotted copying a few steps in the dugout before the match.

Archer bowled a seam-up delivery at over 140 km/h as the ball retreated to Shaw before taking the inside edge of the bat and crashing into the middle stump.

ILP 2020 DC vs RR: While Shaw was astonished by his discharge– a maiden-ball duck – Archer and the teammates were enraptured as it was seen in the celebrations.

Parag played an extraordinary hit of 42 not out of 26 balls and shared an unshattered 85-run partnership with Rahul Tewatia, who scored 45 off 28 and remained undefeated till the concluding.

The duo ran down SRH’s 158 with just one ball to spare and Parag was spotted tutoring Tewatia a few Bihu dance moves post-match.

It was beautiful seeing the player’s connection to his roots and his culture. The celebration of achievement by performing steps from his folk dance represents how natural this player is.

ILP 2020 DC vs RR: The celebrations to one side, Rajasthan found themselves in a tricky situation in IPL 2020 with a meager six points from seven fixtures and a decline to the seventh position on the IPL points table.

This is Rajasthan’s second match against Delhi this season with Delhi coming out victorious in their first face-off in Sharjah by 46 runs.
