Within the first few days of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will realise that iron nuggets are the most critical resources. You will need Iron Nuggets to craft tools and unlock Nook’s Cranny, which is the island’s first store, costing you 30 Iron Nuggets to finish building it. After all, getting better tools is an essential part of everyday life in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As you start upgrading your tools, such as your axe, shovel or even the fishing rod, you will notice that you need iron nuggets more than anything else.
You can get Iron Nuggets from rocks, which can also spit out stone and clay. Some of the rocks in your town will drop Bells instead of resources. It’s best to check the rocks so that you have Iron Nuggets when you need them.
How to Find them?
To find Iron Nuggets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will need to start hitting some rocks. Use your axe or shovel and find a rock on your island. Instead of the bigger, darker rocks that make up the coastal landscape of your island, you must locate the small, silver stones.
You can hit these rocks several times, and there’s a chance that either, Iron Nuggets, Clay, Bells or Stones will be released. There’s no guarantee that you’re going to get an Iron Nugget every time. But you will get at least three items from a single rock a day, so be sure to hit each of these rocks on your island multiple times a day and try not to break them.
How to Farm them?
To farm Iron Nuggets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will need to ensure that you’re using a Stone Axe or a Shovel, hit the rocks around your island until they stop giving out resources. Once you have drained your island, buy a Nook Miles Ticket, and head to another island. Each island will have some rocks to hit and therefore Iron Nuggets to collect. Something to keep in mind is that once you hit a rock, an invisible timer will star. The rocks will only give out items for a specific time, so hit it as fast as you can to get the maximum yield of iron nuggets.
Sometimes you might get more than two Iron Nuggets at once. Remember, you can’t use shovels on your friend’s island. You can only farm with a shovel on your island or a deserted one, accessed via the Nook Miles Ticket.
