Netflix is all set to add a fresh anime series for the audience in its ever-expanding pool. The streaming giant has finally unveiled its 2021 anime line up which includes Mappa’s Yasuke anime along with The Pacific Rim and Resident Evil.
The official Twitter handle of Netflix teased the viewers by dropping a few hints regarding the storyline of the anime and a visual of first character design. Though no fixed date was mentioned in the Netflix official declaration but it is confirmed that anime will be released in 2021. In the poster released Yasuke and Oba Nobunga can be seen wearing some old traditional outfits of warriors dated back to 16th century. Mappa studio is known for an attack on titans: the final season has animated the anime series and it is directed by LeSean Thomas who is also serving as the creator and executive producer of the anime alongside Flying lotus. He is best known for Cannon Buster, Boondocks and Children of Ether.
Flying Lotus is also giving the music of the anime, who have been nominated previously in Grammy Awards.
The plotline of the anime is set in a different era of samurais and wars, in feudal Japan. Yasuke a warrior who fought battles all his life is finally hoping for a peaceful relaxed life ahead after all the wars and bloodshed but his destiny has planned something else for him. He again gets caught up in a war when a village becomes a centre of the warring daimyo. He is in the charge of a mysterious child who needs to be saved from the dark forces.
The anime’s protagonist Yasuke is the real legend of Japan who took part in many battles of the 16th century and came to be known as black samurai. He originally belonged to Africa.
The story seems to be promising and exciting, it will be worth watching the series.
