Astro City mini: Sega is one of the known names in the gaming industry. Once, it was the only console that offered competition to the famous Nintendo franchise. Recently, Sega saw a lot of success with the Retro Genesis Mini Console. But, before it was in the console business, Sega was known to produce some of the best arcade systems.
Well, it looks like Sega is getting back in the business with its new arcade machine. This machine apparently connects to your TV and gives you 36 classic arcade games.
Astro City mini: Some Details of the Machine
The people who work at the Sega Driven have revealed some of the early details about the console. It was said that the console with come with 36 pre-loaded arcade games. Some of the names of these games have been revealed. But, as of now, the full list of games is not available.
We are mentioning some of the games which have been confirmed by the developer. Alien Syndrome, Alien Storm, Golden Axe, Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder, Columns II, Dark Edge, Tant R, Virtua Fighter, Fantasy Zone, and Altered Beast. If you look at this list, they have not revealed a lot of the games. Hence, we can assume that they will be taking the same route as they did with the Genesis Mini Console.
The Astro City mini is supposed to be out in the market by the end of this year. The console has an in-built screen which is about 8 inches in size. But, the console can also be connected to a TV via HDMI. Therefore, we can say that the console has some portability. It also has slots for USB therefore, we can expect to connect extra joysticks. Those joysticks will be each sold separately.
Hence, if you are a Sega fan-boy, you would want to get your hands on this device. But, it has not been revealed whether this will be revealed outside of Japan. Since people do not know whether an arcade system will be famous in the West. Therefore, it can happen that the sales are just limited to the home turf of Sega.
