Fortnite is one of the most popular multiplayer games of all time. It has elicited a lot of players and is an important eSports event. Players always have their ears to the ground for any new information about the game. Now, leaks and gaming industry go hand in hand. It is the same for the game of Fortnite.
Before any new thing is about to drop in the game, it is seen that the information makes it to the internet. There are many journalists, insiders, and miners who leak information about the game. We have seen that sometimes the developer leaks information about the game. This is done to create a hype for the new release. But, to pinpoint the source of the leak is rather impossible.
What if you are caught?
Though ascertaining the source of the leaks is an impossible task, if you are caught, you can be in a lot of trouble. Hence, expect a lawsuit if you are caught leaking sensitive information. Plus, add the fact Fortnite is a big game. So, when some big update is about to come, the developer is very careful.
If this information is leaked to the outside world, it ends up costing the company a lot of money. This is because this is leaked to the competitors. Moreover, for a game like Fortnite, this proves to be a huge loss.
Employee Leaking Information
Let us look at something which happened last year. Fortnite sued a tester named Lucas Johnston for $85,000. He was accused of leaking important information about Fortnite Chapter 2 months before its release. This time it seems it is one of their own who has been leaking information to the internet.
One of the tweets by Happy Power, who is an expert on Fornite news tweeted. “Sorry just got home, a person (still unsure exactly who) working for epic games has been giving leakers tons of leaks, and even giving out AES keys to certain skins that are encrypted. That’s how most leakers have dates to, updates, youtuber skins, itemshops, and things like that.”
This sounds pretty serious. Although we have no information about the action taken against the individual. But, Happy Power has said that more information will follow in his new video.
