Sakura wars: The history of Sega is a tumultuous one. It is said that its history is written by its competitors. Sega tried to create a competition for Nintendo and hence, everything they have done is to put forward that competition. They tried to create a mascot that would act as a competition. A lot of games were also part of this effort.

RPG was also a huge part of the development process. Sega partnered with Red Entertainment to make an all-new RPG series. This series might be getting a reboot soon. So, let us find out more about it.

Sakura Wars on PS4

It would be the first title getting to the PS4 in over a decade. The last title from the series came out in PS2. It was called So Long, My Love and it also came out for Nintendo Wii. This would also be the first game not to be developed by Red Entertainment. Instead, it has gone straight to the Sega Sonic Team.

What is the story of the Sakura Wars?

The game takes place in the alternative reality of Earth in the 1940s. Herein, one of the Federation uses their abilities, steam-powered mechs, and magic to power threats around the globe. Then, a cataclysmic event destroys the combat revue of Tokyo. This is the first line of defense of the Earth.

You are given the role of a Captain called Seijuro Kamiyama, who is a rookie but it soon elevated to the Combat Revue. They have to take part in several world events and protecting citizens from demons and other evil forces.

The gameplay of Sakura Wars

This installment to the series will act as a huge deviation from the series. The series has always had turn-based combat mechanisms. But this time it is going for an action combat system. This will add a lot of diversity to the series. Players will be able to use their abilities in combat to a large extent.

This also marks the first time a Sakura Wars game has ever been in 3D, and it uses Sega’s Hedgehog Engine 2 but made for a more anime-esque model.
