Crash Bandicoot is one of the classics. Anyone who has been into gaming for a long time knows the title quite well. Therefore, it wasn’t a complete surprise that the fans were too excited about the announcement of the new entrant. It has taken inspiration from the 2017 title of Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy. It featured a brand new style for the game. There were new level designs and a much more expanded approach which is also being followed in Crash bandicoot Season 4.
Evolving the series
So, it has been revealed that the new game is the direct continuation of the original style. This is the style that the game is famous for. They have ignored the most recent releases and gone back to the roots. But it shall not be seen as an aversion to non-evolvement. It has just been so long since the series has seen a new game(Crash Bandicoot 4).
Let us look at the new gameplay trailer of the game. There are new platforming levels and new mask power-ups. The most notable announcement is that the game will feature retro and modern difficulty. It is done to attract both returning and new players of the game.
The Line between Retro and Modern
For the players of the retro mode, it will offer a similar experience to that of PS1. Hence, it will attract the oldies. It will feature those old screen displays such as lives and game overs. But for modern players, there is a different setting in Crash Bandicoot 4. It will be featuring the checkpoint type of approach. The traditional model of lives will be removed.
Collecting 100 Wumpa fruits results in a new life. In the modern mode, collecting a certain number of Wumpa fruits will result as a collectable in each stage. We have to say that this approach by the developer is quite good.
It will help to serve the players of both generations. Hence, it will attract a lot of players in the game. If you are a person looking for the same type of challenges in the PS1, then this is the game for you. But even if you want a modern title, it will cater to your needs.
