Avatar 2 is an upcoming science-fiction film that is directed, produced, edited, and co-written by James Cameron. The film is currently planned for a release on December 17, 2021.
The makers of the film have released several behind-the-scenes footages and updates from the sets of the sequel. The film has recently resumed shooting in New Zealand. With these revelations, it’s clear that there will be more underwater scenes in the sequel.
Avatar 2 makers took to Twitter to reveal an interesting technique while shooting an underwater scene. In the newly released photos, James Cameron who is a deep-sea diver himself is seen directing. The picture shows him directing from above, while a number of actors and crew members float on top of a specially created deepwater vat.
The tweet said – ” Fun Fact: That layer of white on the water’s surface is comprised of floating balls that prevent lights from interfering with filming underwater.”
Another photo that was revealed showed actor Britain Dalton, who will play the role of Lo’ak, Jake and Neytiri’s second son in Avatar 2. He was filming an underwater sequence, where he was performing the shot in a performance capture suit. He was seen riding atop something which will likely be replaced with an underwater creature by CGI.
The Twitter account of the page has also shared several photos of the artificial world, Pandora, that has been created for the movie. In Avatar 2, Jay and Neytiri will have a family. But they’ll be forced to leave their home. They will then go out and explore the different regions of Pandora. They will also spend quite a bit of time on the water, around the water, and in the water.
Avatar 2 will feature Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephan Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, Joel David Moore, and Matt Gerald.
