Rocket League ‘s constrained time Heatseeker mode—in which the ball homes in on objectives—was near so quickly that I totally missed it. Uplifting news for me: It’s returning May, however again it won’t be around for long. Heatseeker will return on May 21 and stick around until May 26.
It’s not the only limited time mode we’ll see in Rocket League next month: Psyonix has announced that we’re entering the “Modes of May” event, which will bring a new mode every weekend. Here’s the schedule:
- May 1 – May 4: Dropshot Rumble
- May 7 – May 11: Beach Ball
- May 14 – May 18: Boomer Ball
- May 21 – May 26: Heatseeker
Dropshot Rumble, which clearly consolidates the Dropshot mode with Rumble’s uncommon forces, upsets me on a powerful level, as though its reality nullifies something about reality that I can’t exactly get a handle on. I anticipate playing it this end of the week.
Beach Ball returns from last summer: It’s a 2v2 mode that makes the ball extra light and adds curves to shots.
Boomer Ball doesn’t have anything to do with individuals conceived during the ’50s and ’60s, however, they’re free to play. This is the first occasion when it’ll be an official mode, however, it’s been around as a well-known custom game mode: You make the ball too light, too quick, excessively fun, and give everybody a boundless lift and 1.5x lift quality.
Boomer mode allows for some absurd shots.
Every mode will go live and end at 9 am Pacific on its planned days. They’ll be unranked, yet you’ll get the standard measure of XP for playing them.
In the event that one is extra well known, perhaps Psyonix will think about creating another lasting, positioned expansion close by additional modes Rumble, Dropshot, Hoops, and Snow Day. For the present, we simply get a bunch of days with each.
