Bohemia Interactive has shut it’s Slovakia based studio, the studio had major contribution in the zombie survivor title Day Z. The studio had 40 employees which have been relocated to different studios under the umbrella of Bohemia Interactive.
As per the company, closure of the Slovakia located studio was a mutual decision between majority stakeholders from both the sides. However, this wont result in the closure of Day Z development. The game would still be getting regular updates irrespective of the closure.
At max the only set back that the studio’s closure can cause would be the slowing down of the game’s development.
This Closure was announced through Bohemia Interactive’s official Twitter account that said: –
“We recently closed our Bratislava studio. It was a mutual decision between management and studio leads, and we want to thank all team members for their contribution.
This decision won’t affect the future dev. of Day Z”
This clearly explains that the studio is fully dedicated to provide the desired results in the game.
The closure was planned earlier in 2019 and was initiated by transferring various operations to the the developer’s major studio in Prague(Czech Republic).
As a part of the Company’s January agenda, the individuals involved in Day Z project were significantly reduced to inculcate more hands on experts in their latest devised in-house engine. This engine could possibly be the machine over which most of the games by the studio will be based. The Organization confirms this saying
“Enfusion technology will power all of Bohemia Interactive’s future titles, and to support it, some team members moved to work fully on it last June, leaving Day Z with a much smaller development team consisting of seasoned developers across various departments,”.
There were no further Information given by the Studio Regarding the Details of the Updates in Day Z.
